What Is An A Record

An A Record is used to point Internet traffic to an IP address. It is part of your zone file. For example, you can use an A record to designate subdomain.yourdomain.com to send your website visitors and web traffic to your website's IP address. You can also designate anothersubdomain.yourdomain.com to go to a separate IP address.

A records and zone files are how your website visitors find your domain without having to remember your IP address.
