What Is A Shared SSL


With shared SSL you get the benefits of SSL without the costs that are usually associated with setting up an SSL on the server. if you use Shared SSL you use your web hosting company's SSL certificate. When using shared SSL, you usually get a secure URL like https://esc##.midphase.com/~username

The CPanel server provides users with a shared SSL and will always prompt you with a warning message before you can use it.

It is not considered professional to use a shared SSL for conducting online transactions. Shared SSL is mostly useful if you want to use SSL when connecting with a mail client. You would just need to use the server name as the incoming and outgoing server. If you are unsure of your server name, you can ask our support team.
